Speaking before the miscarriage the unborn baby's father Jamison Toews, 28, described how they had seen an ultrasound hours before going to the cinema.
Recalling how Miss Moser was shot, he told CBS News: "Another bullet came and hit her right in front of me and she just fell right back down." He added: "I saw what you never want to see and it was Veronica's lifeless body lying there."
At the weekend victims were mourned at funerals in three US states.
In Springfield, Ohio Samantha Yowler, who was shot in the knee wept at the funeral of her boyfriend Matt McQuinn, 27, who saved her by diving in front of her and taking three bullets.
In San Antonio, Texas mourners gathered at the Community Bible Church to remember Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sportscaster. Her brother Jordan Ghawi described the gunman as a "coward."
A private funeral service was also held at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, for Staff Sergeant Jesse Childress, 29, a cyber-systems operator.
Holmes is due to be formally charged at a court hearing today.
According to court documents submitted by his defence he was a psychiatric patient at the time of the shootings.
He had been visiting Dr Lynne Fenton, the medical director of student mental health services at the University of Colorado, where he was a neuroscience postgraduate student.
Holmes had sent a notebook to Dr Fenton containing drawings of a shooting spree but it never reached her and was later found in the post room.
