Hundreds Show Support for "Rainbow Jane"

Omaha, Ne- Hundreds gather for an emotional night at Memorial Park rallying against hate.

Earlier this week, a Lincoln woman dubbed "Rainbow Jane" was allegedly attacked in her home by three masked men. They tied her up and carved homophobic slurs into her arm, then tried to set her house on fire.

Thursday night, supporters of "Rainbow Jane" held a vigil at Memorial Park to support the alleged victim.

For some, the vigil is about standing up for themselves and being true to who they are.

One of the supporters, Jaid Blanton says, "It makes me sad to know that someone would do that to someone just cause of the choice she made in her life."

Two benefits will be held to help "Rainbow Jane" with her medical costs.

DC's Saloon, August 4th at 9 p.m.

Flixx Show Bar, "The United We Stand" Benefit , August 16th at 7:30
