The first Generation Ali Beyond Sport Award was given to Matiullah Haidar, aged 19, many of whose relatives have died during the conflict in Afghanistan. Haidar now lives in Britain and coaches sport, whilst also acting as a translator to help other refugees.
The award is intended to acknowledge a young person who shows leadership and inspiration through sport.
Olympic gold medallist and former world heavyweight boxing champion Ali is 70 and has Parkinson's Disease.
