"I closed my eyes, and said a little prayer and everything, and you know it's hard."

Ottis was killed Tuesday in a motorcycle crash on Highway 6. His death, left the entire community shocked and shaken.

"God, his wave and his smile made you feel like a million dollars."

Dennis and Cheri O'Kelly put their message to Dan in front of their store, Cheri O's. In memory of their favorite police officer and his favorite dessert, apple pie and ice cream.

"You never went by him without him giving you his grand-anna smile, and you knew that you know, he was thinking about you and he cared about you."

He touched many lives...

"It wasn't just adults that went to him for help you know the kids, they all looked up to him too."

And today, hundreds of people paid their respects to officer Ottis. His family, overwhelmed by the amount of community support.

"It's so heart warming, to know that he touched that many lives, and that the community thought that much of him."
