London 2012 Olympics: Men's team pursuit cyclists 'delighted to deliver the goods'

The British quartet of Ed Clancy, Stephen Burke, Peter Kennaugh and Geraint Thomas went out fast and kept building until even the much vaunted Australians began to crack in the third kilometre and lost a rider. From that moment there was only one winner as GB came home in a mind boggling 3 mins 51.659 seconds, a ride that will live long in the memory of all those who witnessed it.

Speaking after they had received their gold medals, Geraint Thomas said that it was a "great feeling" to "deliver the goods."

Stephen Burke added: "I'm just stunned to be honest, and the first thing I felt when I went over the line was relief, that's for sure."
