Fighting West Nile Virus
Douglas County, NE - Douglas County Health Department workers will begin setting traps again today at Lake Zorinsky. At 4:30pm, they'll once again test the area, that tested positive last week for the West Nile Virus. They set up traps to catch thousands of mosquitoes, then take the bugs to a lab, to have them tested. A group of mosquitoes from Boys Town also tested positive for the virus last week. Results will take at least 24 hours. Meantime, The Douglas County Health Department says it is always a good idea to keep bug spray with you in case you come across high grass and heavy weeds, which are breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
