More than 20 officers arrived at The Lindens on the New Addington estate, near Croydon, south London, and placed a cordon around the property where Christine Sharp, 46, lives with her boyfriend, Stuart Hazell, 37.
One officer said they were the "last" bits of evidence to be removed from the property.
Shortly afterwards two police dog handlers arrived on the scene with a black German Shepherd and entered the property.
It is the second time dogs have been taken into the property where Tia was staying before her disappearance.
Mrs Sharp was later escorted from the house by a police officer and driven away.
The police cordon means the media and public can no longer walk past the terraced house and people gathered around 100 yards from the property to await any developments.
Speaking outside her home early today, Mrs Sharp broke down as she spoke about Tia's disappearance.
She said: "My only message to Tia is that I love her. She is my life. I don't know where she has gone. I don't know how she's gone. She's not staying away by choice, I know this."
Mrs Sharp added: "We will help the police and anybody and everybody else in every way I can, so will every member of my family. We are going to cause them no obstruction whatsoever. Whatever they want to do they can do it, no problem. I just want my baby back."
