A spokesman said: "We can confirm Tony Blair is being paid the pension he is entitled to under this legislation and that the pension was calculated on the salary that was due to a Prime Minister at the time Mr Blair left office."
Both Gordon Brown and David Cameron were said to have declined the pension because it was seen as too generous.
The two successors to Mr Blair also received a lower salary, reducing their wages in line with policies of austerity during the global economic downturn.
Mr Cameron announced his pay cut in May 2010, taking his salary down to £142,500.
Mr Blair has previously rejected criticism of his earnings, claiming he could "make a lot more" if he was only interested in making money.
Despite his publicly-funded security team, he was recently subjected to a prank at his west London home where satirists filming for the BBC 3 programme The Revolution Will Be Televised arrived to fit a mock stained glass window.
Mr Blair did not respond when asked about the breach of security.
