Six companies helped battle the flames.
Cass County, NE - Firefighters were on the scene Monday night of a big fire at the Nehawka fire station on Elm Street. The fire chief tells KMTV Action 3 News, the fire broke out inside when no one was there. All of their equipment was inside, so they couldn't even start the attack untill surrounding agencies came to their aid.
Right now, they know their ambulances are destroyed. They don't know how badly their other equipment was damaged, but they say it doesn't look hopeful to salvage it. Our photographer on the scene says the building is still standing, but is heavily damaged.
