Students will take the survey this fall.
Omaha, NE – OPS High School Students will take a survey that includes questions about their sex life this fall. Health officials say they lose out on federal funds every year because they don’t provide the data.
It’s something the school board hasn’t agreed to since the 90s.
La Gena Dial’s daughter goes to Central High School. She says she doesn’t mind if her daughter takes a survey about youth risk behaviors, as long as it will help students.
Not everyone agrees it’s the school’s job to ask the tough questions.
Stephanie Diesterhaupt says she would rather ask her teen those personal questions but likes the rule that no teen will take the survey without a consent form.
Dr. Adi Pouri from the Douglas County Health Department says the surveys are anonymous and will only be used to collect data.
