The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of acquiring outfielder Shane Victorino from the Philadelphia Phillies, sources told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark.

The Phillies would receiver reliever Josh Lindblom and a player to be named.

The Dodgers already have been aggressive leading up to Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline, acquiring three-time All-Star Hanley Ramirez from the Florida Marlins. Los Angeles also been in talks for Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster and outfielder Alfonso Soriano, according to a major league source.

In the final year of his contract, Victorino is enduring a disappointing season, batting .261 with nine homers, 40 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 101 games.

It is uncertain how the Dodgers would use Victorino, who is considered an above-average center fielder. Matt Kemp is the club's center fielder while Andre Ethier is firmly entrenced in right. Victorino could switch to left field.

A potential trade also would signal that the Phillies, who have won five straight NL East titles but are well out of a playoff spot this season, could be looking toward 2013. There also has been trade rumors involving pitchers Cliff Lee and Joe Blanton.
