President Obama to Make Campaign Stop at Bayliss Park Monday
Council Bluffs, IA - The city of Council Bluffs is gearing up for President Obama's visit to Bayliss Park Monday morning.
"It's kind of like watching a movie being filmed," said resident Marji McNeal.
As crews worked to put the finishing touches on the stage Sunday, some residents are eager to have the 44th president here in town.
"I think it's exciting. We never really get this kind of exposure," said McNeal.
McNeal hopes the president will use his opportunity at the park to talk about issues important to her family and friends.
"The budget, the war and healthcare."
Not everyone is looking forward to the presidential visit though.
"I think it's a waste of resources and money," said resident Scott Kern.
Kern believes the president's time would be better served elsewhere focusing on the economy.
"He should be sitting in the Oval Office trying to figure out a solution to the problem rather than contributing to it."
On Monday, however, the show will go on; a visit getting plenty of attention from both major political parties.
