The group says it will amend its complaint against Freddie Gray Monday night.
(Omaha) - The Douglas County Republican Party released new documents tonight it says proves City Councilman Ben Gray directly benefited from financial votes his wife made as a member of OPS School Board.
This week, the group said it uncovered multiple conflicts of interest between 2008 and 2010. They say Freddie Gray made many votes to give money, totalling more than $65,000, to organizations where her husband sat on the board. Those organizations include United Way, Girls Inc, and Impact One. The group claims the conflict of interest is a direct violation to rules set forth by the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission.
When KMTV Action 3 News questioned the Grays, they called the accusations a witch hunt. They claimed they've done nothing wrong. They also said since Ben Gray wasn't a paid employee of the organizations, he didn't benefit directly from Freddie Gray's votes.
Tonight, the Douglas County Republican Party gave documents to KMTV that appear to come from the NADC. They are signed by Ben Gray in 2009, and he indicates he's a paid employee of Impact One. The GOP says when they submit their complaint to OPS Monday night, they will add new complaints to include their latest finding. That meeting is open to the public.
KMTV Action 3 News contacted Ben Gray Friday Night. He has not returned our phone calls.
