Gay Rights Activists Respond to Chick-fil-A

CREATED 6:34 PM

Known for its chicken sandwiches and waffle freis, Chick-fil-A is now surrounded by a firestorm of debate.

"I'm just not gonna support a business that doesn't support my life."

"I believe that marriage belongs between a man and a woman."

In response to Wednesday's Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, gay rights activists are holding a day of their own...at Chick-fil-A Same Sex Kiss day.

"Omaha is a very diverse community and we need to support businesses that appreciate that diversity and are in support of us."

People in Omaha's LGBT Community are shouting back, with messages of no hate.

"you know people kind of misconstrue these issues they're not just issues for gay people they're things that affect us in our every day life."

But Wednesday's huge turnout, all in support of the restaurant chain, because of the president's recent comments on traditional marriage.

"If they want to have a union, between themselves that's fine but I just believe that marriage belongs between a man and a woman."

Some customers just there for some nuggets and lemonade, say it's not about equality, it's about freedom of speech.

"and what I respect, is his right to be able to say his views, and I don't understand what rights they're trying to describe that they're not actually receiving."
