At Offutt Air Force Base, all eyes are on the sky.
"Oh it's spectacular."
Faster than a speeding bullet, and loud as thunder, planes and jets of all sizes twist and turn over thousands.
"It's been terrific what a beautiful show."
For an Airforce veteran, seeing these planes for the first time, in a long time brings him straight back to Vietnam.
"Yes the adrenaline is pumping today, it's just going back to when I served, that would've been during the late 60's early 70's."
Watching jets zoom by like this one, the F18 Super Hornet.
"when you hear those engines to me it's very patriotic and hearing that jet noise I think is awesome."
These brave guys fly it, and with their families watching..
"I think it is the best when I'm performing in front of people I know, it's awesome to do it front of people but when you know them it adds that extra level to it, it's great."
The air show means a little more pilot Jeremy Ludwig.
"My father comes from NW Iowa, and actually my folks lived here for the beginning of their marriage, so Omaha, there's a lot of history in my family that's specifically with Omaha, NE so it's awesome."
For some, the air show means much more than just an event, it makes new dreams for our youth and keeps the old dreams, alive.
"I always wanted to fly, that was my dream when I was a boy."
