Omaha, NE - A man wanted by police for almost 32 years is back in Omaha and facing murder charges.
Oscar Hernandez, who's 51 years old now, is in jail for first degree murder.
He's accused of killing 29-year-old Vickie J. DeAnda at her apartment, 3009 South 24th Street, on September 11, 1980. Five days later, police issued a search warrant.
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested Hernandez for the 1980 homicide in Nebraska as he was trying to cross from Mexico along the New Mexico border.
The Border Patrol announced earlier this month that agents arrested the Mexican citizen Hernandez in a remote area of southwestern New Mexico.
A check revealed Hernandez had an outstanding warrant in connection with the homicide in Omaha.
Authorities say he will also be charged with illegal entry into the country.
