Tom Daley said how happy he was to compete in front of his family members and friends, as well as the legions of British supporters he has attracted.
The 18-year-old lost his father Rob to cancer 14 months ago, and as soon he had completed the post-event press conference and a standard drugs test he went to celebrate his Olympic success with family members.
American David Boudia claimed gold in the event, with China's Qiu Bo in second place.
